Annual Nashua fundraiser to help send kids to camp

Summer camp can be a great experience in a young person's life, but not everyone has the means to offer this opportunity to their son or daughter. People in Nashua who would like to help make sure that at least 100 kids will be able to go camping this coming summer can do so by purchasing a ticket for a fundraiser that will answer the question of whether or not the area will enjoy a short or long winter.

The myth of using a groundhog to predict how long winter will be goes back to the German celebration of Candlemas Day. During the Groundhog Breakfast, guests will learn about its history and the present day traditions that surround this lighthearted holiday.

Those who purchase a ticket for the breakfast will be regaled with stories from local elected officials and other celebrities, and there will also be both live and silent auctions. The proceeds will be utilized to help give underprivileged kids a chance to participate in overnight and day camps, and tickets are $50.

The breakfast is scheduled to start at 7:00 am, and it promises to be a fun affair. A colorful banner can be prepared by a banner printing professional to greet the guests who come to this sort of event.

Nashua’s DoubleTRee by Hilton will be welcoming guests to the annual Groundhog Breakfast on February 1. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible.
