Stratham to serve as venue for summer 4-H event

As Stratham enjoys another summer, its 4-H members will be showing off their animal husbandry and other agricultural knowledge and skills during a special event.

The 4-Summerfest will be welcoming delegates from all across New Hampshire, and they will be coming together for a celebration that will salute the state’s agricultural heritage. The public is encouraged to check it out as well, and it will be filled with animal shows, exhibits and other activities.

The livestock and pets that will be part of the day will include rabbits, beef and dairy cattle, goats, sheep, dogs, and also working steer. There will be an assortment of projects prepared by 4-H members to admire, and awards will be presented at the end of the session. On the evening before the main event, there will be a potluck dinner and other special fun reserved exclusively for members of the host organization.

Along with the rest of the celebration, the function will boast tractor driving contests and forestry exhibits. Stationery printers will be able to prepare custom designed certificates for each person who participates in a particular special activity.

The Stratham Hill Park Fairgrounds is set to welcome this celebration of the state's future farm operators on Saturday, July 15. It will be open to members of the public from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
