Stratham to provide essential pet training

The New Hampshire SPCA will host a Pet First Aid and CPR Workshop this April.

The event will provide essential training for pet owners and caregivers and will be led by April Begosh of Healthy Pets New Hampshire. It will cover emergency response techniques to address various medical situations.

Participants will learn rescue breathing, CPR, choking intervention, heat- and cold-related injuries, and how to manage fractures, sprains, and poisoning incidents. The workshop will also include instruction on restraining, muzzling, and conducting a full physical wellness assessment to help owners recognize Signs of distress.

Attendees will get a workbook along with two certificates - one for display and another for personal reference. Certification remains valid for 24 months. While the session is designed to equip individuals with life-saving skills for pets, it also serves as a fundraiser to support animals in need through the New Hampshire SPCA.

Enrollment is limited to 30 participants, and the cost to attend is $99 per person. Registration can be completed through the event’s online listing.

Brochure printing may be used by organizers to provide educational materials to attendees of events such as this one.

Attendees should note that this is a human-only event and no pets are permitted. The class will run from 9 am to 4 pm at the New Hampshire SPCA Behavior and Training Center, 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, New Hampshire.
