Raised bed gardening will be the topic of a workshop planned for Stratham area home horticulturalists, and it will be facilitated by a local subject matter expert.
Experience gardener Patti will be sharing her expertise during an instalment of the Garden School Series offered at Rolling Green Nursery. Likely to be helpful to beginners and seasoned green thumbs alike, it will have a focus on growing plants for food.
The session will introduce the benefits of raised bed gardening, including how it offers a way for those with mobility or other physical challenges to get growing. It will be a mixture of in -lass and hands-on learning, and the group will discover how to build and prepare their own plots for planting. Choosing and caring for the soil is on the agenda, as is plant selection, and the $10 ticket price can be used by the attendees towards a purchase they make at the nursery on the date of the activity.
This workshop will be offered in both the morning and afternoon, and masks are required. Offering the attendees in an activity like this printed garden guide will make it easier for them to continue learning once they head for home, and these can be sourced from Stationery printers.
Rolling Green Nursery has made plans to welcome the public for these sessions on April 3. It will be repeated on April 24 to accommodate as many learners as possible.
