Winston-Salem foodies will soon have a new eatery to sample, as the Phoenix Grille is set to move into a the former Twin City Chop House location.
The site, located at 115 North Main Street in the downtown area, is in the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building. The Wingate by Wyndham Hotel is adjacent to the municipal building.
Catered Affairs owns the Phoenix Grille, and says the restaurant will open for lunchtime dining on weekdays, and at dinnertime every day except Sunday. It will have about 40 employees on its payroll.
The lunch menu includes such popular items as blackened chicken, grilled salmon, salads, sandwiches, and fresh-made pizzas. Dinner items include steaks, chops, rosemary chicken, and shrimps. The restaurant also has space available for meetings, as well as a private dining room. Free parking will be provided behind it.
The Phoenix Grille has a devoted following, many of whom work downtown, according to Catered Affair's president, Jim Welker. He notes that when the downtown property became available, the Phoenix leapt at the chance to move, since he believes doing so will allow them to serve their loyal customers more easily.
Just before the opening, Phoenix Grille management could work with a flyer printing company to create handouts for distribution near the new location. New restaurants often roll out coupon schemes to tempt customers in their early days.
