A creative collaboration between the New Museum in New York City, Wake Forest University, and local community partners has made it possible for an outdoor festival to be held this weekend in downtown Winston-Salem.
The highlight of the event will be the Marketplace of Ideas. This will have interactive exhibits in an outdoor living room with works from 24 creative organizations in the area that will represent contributions in culture, design, art, and technology. Inventors, designers, entrepreneurs, and artists will have on display innovative ideas to help everyone move forward after the events of the past year. Such unique exhibits often turn to local Print shops to create Flyers and other materials with more details on their ideas.
There will also be several panel discussions. One will focus on music featuring music curators and musicians from Winston-Salem. A panel of mayors will also take place as well as an artists’ panel featuring citizen art fellow from the Kennedy Center and arts administrators from the city.
Music performances will be held from the afternoon through the evening with Jeffrey Dean Foster and Cashavelly Morrison; Donovan Livingston, Bog Ron Hunter, Molly McGinn, and Laurelyn Dossett; and The Martha Bassett Show with Sonny Miles, Drake Duffer, and Reliably Bad.
