The International Village Food and Music Festival will be taking place in Corpening Plaza in Winston-Salem later this month.
There will be dancing, music, food, arts and crafts vendors, fashion shows, and information booths celebrating and showcasing cultures from all over the world. Food trucks offering Haitian, Jamaican, Mexican, and Thai cuisine will be at the festival.
Taking place before the start of the festival in Corpening Plaza will be a naturalization ceremony at which 20 people will become citizens of the United States. Such festivals and special ceremonies are promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
The group Liontracks is headlining the festival and scheduled to perform late in the afternoon. There will also be a variety of cultural singers and dance groups from such countries as Ethiopia, India, Mexico, and China. There will be an area for children with storytelling, games, face painting, and activities for teenagers hosted by the Forsyth County Public Library.
The Winston-Salem Department of Human Relations and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is hosting the event in partnerships with Truist. The Forsyth County Public Library, Forsyth Technical Community College, Summit Eye Care, and North Carolina Navigator Consortium are among the other sponsors of the festival.
The festival will take place from noon to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 15. There is no charge for admission.
