There is a newly constructed venue at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds for drive-in movie viewing and entertainment.
Called “The Drive,” the venue is the result of a partnership by a High Point-based production company, the Focus Event Group, and the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and the city of Winston-Salem. President of Focus Event Group, Chris King, said that new solutions were needed at this time and in the future for entertainment and events in the community. His company has been working with the city and the Fairgrounds to create this innovative outdoor entertainment venue in the area. King expressed his excitement about the partnership and hoped that this type of entertainment in a public outdoor space will appeal to families.
Featured at “The Drive” are extra-large parking spaces, a contactless processes for ticketing and entry, and professional audio and video production. The films will be projected on a high-quality double-sided screen measuring 40 feet by 25 feet. The concessions from the fairgrounds are also available and include a selection of beer and wine. Food and drinks can be ordered on a mobile app, after which the order is delivered to the vehicle.
Print shops are excellent resources for creating listings of movies, schedules, and other information for venues like this.
Saturday, July 18 will be the first “Midnight Movie” night and feature “Days of Thunder” and “Parasite.”
