A new scooter share program by Zagster, a provider of fleet management for the micro-mobility sharing economy, is now available in Winston-Salem. Scooters will now be available for use in the city.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator, from the Department of Transportation in Winston-Salem, Matthew Burczyk, said that having scooters in the city adds to the very robust micro-mobility program in which pedal bikes are used. He expressed his excitement about adding these scooters to an existing pedal bike sharing program and working with a company that has the expertise to manage the program and keep residents safe.
Flyer printing can be used to inform residents of such programs, with more details about their cost and rules and regulations.
The bike-share program is a partnership between Zagster and the National Cycling Center. Zagster is currently providing 100 scooters with the goal to increase that number to 500 by the end of 2019.
CEO of Zagster, Dan Grossman, also expressed his pleasure in being able to expand its current business with the city of Winston-Salem to be able to offer scooters. He added that his company, with its trained employees and state-of-the art technology, is able to ensure that city guidelines for the use of scooters will be followed, so that scooters are collected, maintained, and used as outlined.
Spin, a start-up company backed by Ford Motors, will be providing the scooters.
