Film buffs in the Winston-Salem area can immerse themselves in cinema culture at an 11-day event.
The RiverRun International Film Festival will feature 74 feature-length films and 91 shorts from a myriad of countries. Filmmakers will travel from all over the world to showcase their work.
The event will begin with an opening gala at the Millennium Center featuring music, dancing, small bites, desserts, and a cash bar. The gala costs $12 per person.
During the event, there will be a question and answer session with two directors. There will also be family-friendly matinees, film premieres, and filmmaker panels. Awards will be given to the ‘2015 Master of Cinema’ and two ‘2015 Emerging Master recipients’.
The annual Pitch Fest will give student filmmakers a chance to share their documentary ideas with experts. The winner will receive money and recognition.
Screenings cost $12 for adults and $10 for students. During the weekdays, screenings before 5:00 pm cost $6. There is also a discounted sampler card for $108. No doubt Stationery printers have been busy creating tickets and cards.
Throughout the week, films and shorts will take place at various venues in the Winston-Salem area including the Hanesbrands Theater, a/perture 1 and 2, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, and The University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
