Several events for young readers will be hosted by Bookmarks in Winston-Salem during the month of July.

Costumed characters, Clifford and Dog Man, will be featured at the Scholastic Summer Reading Palooza and Storytime offering photo opportunities and a special story time. There will also be summer reading materials, supplies, and giveaways provided by Scholastic Publishing Company. This event is geared towards children up to the age of 12 and will take place on Saturday, July 13 at 10:00 am.
This event will be followed by a Moon Landing Celebration the next day to commemorate the 50th anniversary of men landing on the moon. There will be Books with moon themes, lunar activities, and snacks, as well as the chance to meet two authors of children’s books. This event will take place between 3:00 and 6:00 pm.
The Teen Advisory Council will be hosting the last event, which will be a Harry Potter Trivia Night and Birthday Celebration. Those who are fans of the J. K. Rowling series will enjoy themed activities and snacks as well as some literary trivia. The event will be held on July 31 at 7:00 pm to mark the fictional wizard’s birthday.
