Ziehl-Abegg, Inc. will be moving its headquarters in North America to Winston-Salem and will be investing over $100m as part of the expansion of its operations in the city.
It is expected that the new headquarters will add 189 more jobs to Forsyth County as it builds a new state-of-the-art building that will span 500,000 square feet. In addition, Stationery printers may be busy with printing new Letterheads, Business Cards, and other materials that a move to a new headquarters often requires.
Ziehl-Abegg was founded in 1910 as a manufacturer of motors and now makes innovative industrial motors and fan systems. The fans produced by the company are used in data centers, schools, hospitals, and for agricultural purposes. It has over 5,000 employees around the world.
Chief operating officer of Ziehl-Abegg, Joachim Ley, said that trends such as urbanization and digitalization are leading to a growing demand and an increase in the company’s capacity to produce its motors and fans. Ley added that the market in the United States is particularly important for the company and is driving this expansion. He said that it is expected that the company will add over 500 employees in a short period of time.
The One North Carolina Fund will be providing a performance-based grant of $400,000, with a capital investment of $24.5m from the company to help with its expansion in North Carolina.
