Greek, Southern, and American eatery coming to Winston-Salem
The first Showmars restaurant will be coming to Winston-Salem.
A casual eatery that features a range of Greek, American, and American dishes, will be moving into what was once Tijuana Flats in Hanestowne Village on Harvey Street. Renovations are currently underway on the space.
Items on the menu at the restaurant will include their signature fried fish sandwich, pita burgers, gyros, and Calabash shrimp, as well as soups and salads. Baklava and baklava cheesecake will highlight the dessert items. The restaurant will be opened for lunch and dinner and potentially breakfast. Customers will order their food at the counter which will then be served to them at their table.
Such unique restaurants might want to turn to promotional products to publicize their opening in a new location and garner interest in their menu.
George Couchell founded the first Showmars 30 years ago. He came to the United States when he was a boy, worked in his family’s restaurant, attended Duke University, and served in the Navy. He always wanted to open a restaurant that would be unique in the Charlotte area offering fresh food in a wide range of flavors.
Showmars is a chain of over a dozen locations in the Charlotte area. Locations of the eatery are also in Mooresville, Gastonia, and Shelby. No opening date yet for the restaurant has been set.
