Affordable clothing and accessory store now open in Winston-Salem

Uptown Cheapskate in Winston-Salem has been re-opened for business.

Lesley Rodriguez, assistant manager of the store, expressed her happiness at being able to see customers again and interacting with them, as well as seeing the many styles and items they are bringing to the store.

As part of ongoing safety measures, there will be Tape for standing at the register and someone at the door so as not to crowd the store to ensure that people are safe while shopping. Gloves will be worn by employees and they will also be wiping down areas that are frequently touched. Curbside service will also be available. Only credit card payments will be accepted.

Flyer printing services are often used to make such safety measures known to customers.

The store is part of a chain of 40 other stores in 17 states. It was started in 2009 by Chelsea Sloan and her brother Scott as a unique, environmentally friendly concept in Salt Lake City. At the time, Chelsea was pursuing a business degree at the University of Utah.

The store is a cross between a thrift store, a favorite store in a mall, and an exclusive boutique, selling many like-new fashions at affordable prices. The store accepts customer donations, which can include jeans and designer jeans, skirts, dresses, and shoes, and other Apparel, as well as accessories like watches, jewelry, and handbags.
