A fourth Orangetheory Fitness location is set to open in north Raleigh, in the Research Triangle.
According to a June 17, 2015 news item, the franchisee is Kristie Shifflette, and this is her third Orangetheory. The new site will be in the Falls Village Shopping Center, located near the Falls of Neuse Road, in north Raleigh. Shifflette's other Orangetheory locations are in Chapel Hill and Morrisville.
Orangetheory relies on the concept of post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), and aims to keep exercise participants' heart rates in specific target zone that increases energy and causes metabolism to spike.
The result of this close monitoring and the type of exercise being done is known as the ‘Orange Effect’, in which participants notice they have more energy, become toned, and burn extra calories and fat for much as 36 hours after the workout.
The workouts are a type of interval fitness in which both strength training and cardiovascular exercises are performed, to create the maximum calorie burn and increase energy. Workouts are an hour long and use a variety of equipment, including free weights, rowing machines, and treadmills.
The new fitness center will be at 6625 Falls of Neuse Road, suite 107, but the facility is not yet open, so those who wish to purchase memberships in advance may do so at 6643 Falls of Neuse Road, the pre-sale location.
When the location opens, Shifflette might work with a banner printing company to create a festive banner to celebrate the day.
