One of the biggest stars in pop music will be in Raleigh soon.
Born in Quebec, Canada, singing sensation Celine Dion is bringing her “Courage World Tour” to Raleigh, to the delight of her many fans. One of the most popular and biggest-selling stars in the world of pop music, Dion has been performing for more than three decades, including a 16-year run in Las Vegas.
Dion began performing as a teenager, singing in her native French until she got her break in 1990 with the release of “Where Does My Heart Beat Now?” She followed up this hit with others that are now familiar, including “My Heart Will Go On,” “It's All Coming Back to Me Now,” and “Because You Loved Me.” Among many other honors, Dion has won the Grammy five times, and the Eurovision Song Contest, representing Switzerland.
Dion says artists that have influenced her include acts as diiverse as the Doobie Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cher, and Edith Piaf. In her turn, Dion has influenced many, if not most, of today's female singers, including Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Beyonce.
One review of a Dion performance said it was a “wonderful musical experience.” Dion will appear February 11, at Raleigh's PNC Arena. The doors open at 7:30 pm. Poster printing can provide glamorous advertising for events such as this.
