Sip and Stroll to have new hours

The City of Raleigh intends to extend the Sip and Stroll’s operating hours and add more stops to its route.

Roughly a year has passed since the City of Raleigh introduced its well-received Sip and Stroll initiative, aimed at increasing downtown visits. Under this program, individuals are permitted to carry wine, beer, and other alcoholic beverages from local restaurants and bars within a designated social district downtown.

A plan for expansion is in motion. Currently covering a significant portion of the downtown core, the district's boundaries are set to expand, with the changes scheduled to be implemented on August 15th. This expansion will reach into the Warehouse District and extend toward Hillsborough Street.

When the changes have been made, the city of Raleigh intends to put up more permanent signage throughout downtown, ensuring that individuals are well-informed about the updated boundaries. Poster printing would be a good way to share such changes with the community.

A bartender named Chase Jaulin commented to say:

"We had a lot of people coming in and asking about it. It's one of those things that's out of our hands, you know, we didn't set the district, so super excited to get in on that.”

The city will also be extending the start time of the Sip and Stroll initiative. It will now commence at 10 a.m. every day of the week.
