Latin favorite coming to Raleigh

A popular Latino artist is coming to Raleigh for a single performance

Alejandro Fernández has won a number of Latin Grammys, and is now bringing his “Hecho en México” World Tour to Raleigh. The tour supports the release of his latest album “Hecho en México (Made in Mexico).” On his new album, Alejandro returns to the format made popular by his father, Vicente.

The format, mariachi ranchera, combines two traditional Forms of Mexican music, the mariachi and the ranchera. A ranchera is a type of song with a specific structure, which begins with an instrumental introduction, moves to a verse or a refrain, goes back to instruments, then to another verse, and finally a tag ending.

Fernández, who is known as “El Potrillo” (the colt), has sold more than 35 million albums throughout the world. At first, his specialty was traditional Mexican music as sung by his father, but over time, he moved into the pop music field with outstanding success, with many of his songs going to #1 on the charts in the United States as well as Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. During his career, he has collaborated with such greats as Plácido Domingo, Rod Stewart, Gloria Estefan, and Beyoncé, and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Fernández will appear at 7:30 pm on June 21 at the PNC Arena, where brochure printing can be used to create attractive programs for an event like this.
