The Haunted History Walking Tour is giving the residents of Raleigh a unique opportunity to learn about some of the most intriguing landmarks in the city.
The Raleigh Haunted History Tour starts right outside the Governor’s Mansion on Blount Street. The tour has four stops at major city landmarks. The guide will talk about the legacy and history behind each landmark before telling an eerie story that may or may not be true. Banner printing can often be found at historical landmarks across the city.
The entire tour will take about 90 minutes depending on how fast or slow the guide chooses to go. There will be no stops for restrooms or refreshments. Most of the tour is suitable for children of all ages, although a few of the ghost stories may be a little frightening for young children – the last story in particular details a grisly murder and even though it is not true, some children may find it disturbing.
Payment for this tour is made on a donation basis. Attendees can pay however much they want to compensate their guides. A suggestion of $15-20 for every adult has been made, although people are free to give more or less depending on how much they enjoyed the tour.
Registration is required before showing up for a tour and registrations must be made through Eventbrite. The tour is being held every Friday evening until September 30, starting at 7:00 pm.
