Downtown Raleigh welcomes nearly 30 new businesses

Raleigh has secured the 11th spot in WalletHub's ranking as one of the best places in the country to kickstart a business, and individuals are indeed taking advantage of this opportunity.

According to the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, almost 30 business owners have bravely ventured into the market since the beginning of this year. These entrepreneurs are opening their doors to customers during a period of significant transition. Businesses can use banner printing to attract customers.

With an already impressive portfolio of five restaurants spread out in Johnston County, Anthony Piazza is now starting a new venture in the vibrant City of Oaks. His latest establishment is situated on the ground level of the AC Hotel located in Glenwood South. Piazza is confident that the expansion represents a solid investment opportunity.

Another recent addition to the scene is Hippo Wines, situated within the Sip and Stroll District. This district is part of a pilot program initiated by the city to foster growth and development in the area. The store’s owner commented:

"Even on Memorial Day when we expected everybody to be gone for the weekend, we had a pretty tremendous amount of foot traffic.”

According to location data from cell phones, the resurgence reached its peak in 2021 at 64% of pre-pandemic levels, but currently sits at approximately half of that. The Downtown Raleigh Alliance acknowledges this shift, noting a decline in activity on weekdays due to hybrid work schedules, but a noticeable increase on weekends.
