School building and renovation projects on the rise in Clover

Renovations to Memorial Stadium in the Clover School District in South Carolina are expected to be completed later this month.

The project was awarded to Pineville-based Randolph and Son Builders, which came in with a bid of $3.1m for the work, which is somewhat over-budget. According to assistant superintendent for the district, Ken Love, the district can remain within its budget of $6m for artificial turf at three athletic fields and the stadium.

Love added that the renovations include better tamps and more seating for disabled persons so as to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. More bathrooms on the home and visitor side and more emergency lighting will also be added in order to bring the stadium up to code.

By having the stadium improvements completed by the end of the month, Love said there might be some play on the field during the spring. The district could turn to poster printing to create colorful Posters to distribute throughout the community announcing the opening of the new field along with the schedule of games.

Other projects in the works in the school district are a new middle school in the Clover area, a new elementary school in the Lake Wylie area, an aquatic center, and a renovation of Clover Middle School to include an academy for ninth grade.
