The Pineville location of Anytime Fitness will be holding one-hour exercise sessions outdoors at no charge each Saturday this month
Staff members of the gym or certified personal trainers will be running the sessions. People of every fitness level will be able to participate in the workouts, which are open to the public and not just members of the gym. Participants should wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle.
According to the owner of Anytime Fitness, Susan Gilder, the goal is for the community to be as active and healthy as possible. It is hoped that these free sessions on the four Saturdays in May will show people that exercise can be fun.
Gilder added that Anytime Fitness is looking to help people become healthier. Some people may interpret this as gaining strength while others consider it to be losing weight. Others might look at it as improving flexibility or balance. What is most important, Gilder said, is that people find those physical activities they enjoy so that exercising is something to be looked forward to and not dreaded.
The four consecutive ‘Free Workout Saturdays’ will be from 8:30 to 9:30 am beginning May 7. Gilder might benefit from the assistance of a local printing company to advertise these free one-hour sessions, which might also bring new clients to her gym.
