A mobile blood donor clinic will be rolling into the parking area at the Pineville Library on Main Street. This is an initiative of the American Red Cross, which emphasizes that the process of giving blood is often quicker than people expect.
Those interested can reserve their spot ahead of time. On arrival, they will be greeted by the staff, asked some basic questions, and given a health screening to make sure giving blood is suitable for them. They will then make their donation before being treated to a light snack and going about the rest of their day. Those who have blood type O, B- or A- are urged to investigate the option of Power Red donations, which take a little longer but result in a donation with a higher concentration of red blood cells being taken.
