Several special activities are planned for the Pineville area this month, and are most likely being advertised by flyer printing to let residents know how they can find out about them.
On Friday, October 31, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, the South Charlotte Baptist Church in Pineville will put on the fall festival it holds for the community every year. As an alternative to Halloween trick-or-treating, the event will have a bounce castle, super slides, and carnival games. Refreshments will include hot dogs and other goodies.
Attendees are invited from the entire community and are allowed to wear costumes as long as they are not overly scary or inappropriate, so as to create as safe and wholesome atmosphere for everybody in the family.
Ongoing throughout the month and open seven days a week, the Hunter Farm in Weddington offers many activities of the season, including a petting barn, hayrides, and the opportunity to choose a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. There are also bonfires and night rides by reservation.
Also, at Squirrel Lake Park in Matthews on October 24 and 25, as well as on October 30 and 31, there will be the Camp Squirrel Lake Haunted Trail during the evenings. It is an event that is designed for children over 10 years of age and adults.
