The International Folk Festival comes back to Fayetteville at the end of this month.
Arts and crafts, music and dance and many types of international foods will celebrate the artistic diversity of the City and give the feeling of traveling around the world without even leaving the Southeast.
The Festival opens Friday night at the Arts Council Building, where people can get a taste of the cultural and art offerings of Fayetteville. This will include artist performances and gallery openings.
Saturday starts with the Parade of Nations at 10:30 am, followed by artists and craftspeople, international cuisine, the Native American Cultural Showcase, a children’s area, and live performances on several stages at Festival Park from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. These activities continue on Sunday also at Festival Park.
The Festival, now in its 37th year, is sponsored by the Fayetteville Observer and Food Lion. Additional sponsors include BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina, WRAL, Cape Fear Eye Associates, the City of Fayetteville, and the North Carolina Arts Council.
These companies and organizations may be working with a local flyer Print company to create material promoting the core values of the Festival to celebrate the diversity of the cultural roots of the community, and encourage people to head downtown and enjoy themselves in the arts for the weekend.
