Two races to join forces in Fayetteville

The City of Fayetteville and Fort Bragg will be hosting the All American Marathon and Mike to Mike Half Marathon at the end of the month.

Both runs will begin in downtown Fayetteville at Festival Park, an entertainment and concert complex in the heart of the city, and end at the Main Post Parade Field at Fort Bragg.

After leaving Festival Park, runners will go to Hay Street past the Market House in the center of the historic downtown area. Then, the route goes past Veterans Park and the Airborne and Special Operations Museum to the Haymount District of the city, eventually winding up at the All-American Freeway.

Those doing the half marathon will leave the Freeway, finishing the race at the Main Post Parade Field. Full marathon runners will continue for four miles along the Freeway and then enter the installation on Gruber road. Runners will go past the home of the 82nd Airborne Division and Pope Airfield, ending with scenic views of FORSCOM headquarters and finishing at the Main Post Parade Field. Participants in both races will be able to view the Iron Mike Statue at Fort Bragg.

The two races will begin at 7:00 am on Sunday March 22. The city and Fort Bragg are looking for sponsors, who will no doubt receive credit on the materials being created by Print companies.
