Several holiday events are coming to Cape Fear in Fayetteville this month.
At the Cape Fear Botanical Garden, Holiday Lights in the Garden will have its plants, trees, and other structures illuminated with thousands of lights to showcase the beauty of the site. There will be penguins, polar bears, an old-fashioned tractor, and the opportunity to tour the General Store and Farm House.
Santa’s Workshop will have free supplies of crafts and ideas for projects, so children can bring home a memento of the evening. Hot drinks and refreshments for all ages will be available in the outdoor beer garden, and the Cross Creek Chordsmen will be on hand to perform favorites from the holidays.
Holiday Lights in the Garden will be open from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm from December 10 through December 14 and December 17 through December 23.
Also, at the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex, the annual Holiday Jubilee will be held on Sunday December 14 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 p.m. The holidays of the past come to life with music from a local singing group, the Coventry Carolers, who will be dressed in Victorian attire.
The event is free and sponsored by a grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville and Cumberland Counties, which may be using poster printing throughout the museum to promote the event.
