Fayetteville set to welcome horticultural symposium

Fayetteville gardeners who would like to learn some new skills are welcome to register for an event all about home horticulture.

The Cumberland County Master Gardener Volunteer Association has plans in the works for its Spring Symposium, which is scheduled for mid-March. It will be a fundraiser for the group's scholarship program, as well as for grants for local gardens.

Speakers who will take to the podium for the day will include Doug Tallamy, Bryce Lane, Kenny Bailey, and Dan Atkins-Hurley, all of whom are experts in their respective fields. There will be a door prize draw and the winners will go home with one of the professionally designed container arrangements on display. A buffet lunch will be served for attendees.

Along with the presentations, luncheon, and raffle draws, the guests will be invited to visit the vendor area. Here, they will be able to do some browsing and buying, and there will be variety of Promotional Products and other gardening gear on offer, as well as Books and other horticultural items.

Space at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Fayetteville Fort Bragg Area hotel has been booked for this event, and it will be held on March 19, starting at 8:30 am. Tickets are now available, and they have been priced at $75. Sales will end on March 12.
