The Fayetteville Marksman hockey team provides sports entertainment to the community, and during one of its upcoming games, it will be providing support for the city’s less fortunate.
Homeless people and others in need of a hand up will benefit from the team’s annual Sock and Undie Toss. This event has proven to be quite popular, and provides a fun way to both help others and raise awareness about an issue faced by the community.
Each ticket holder for the game is asked to purchase packs of socks and underwear, and when the signal is given, these unopened packages will be tossed down onto the ice for collection and donation. To add even more excitement for the game's younger fans, Snoopy and the Peanuts characters will be on hand. The crowd is also welcome to bring their skates or rent a pair on site so they can be part of the post-game mixer with the players out on the ice.
Many hockey and other sports teams have a tradition of fundraising during their games collecting everything from toys to clothing. A poster printing company will be happy to prepare materials that encourage the public to get involved in a local fundraiser.
The Fayetteville Marksman has made plans to hold its annual Sock and Undie Toss on December 9th. The game will be played at Crown Coliseum.
