The Fayetteville area is home to many species of moths, and everyone, for kids to seniors, can learn more about them during an evening event that has been planned for the J. Bayard Clark Park and Nature Center.
While many know and appreciate the beauty of butterflies, moths can be every bit as interesting. National Moth Week will take place in July, and the Moth Night workshop will help to celebrate the occasion. It will include a presentation from an expert in the field of lepidopterology, and after this, the group will head outdoors to see just how active the nighttime sky can be.
The organizers of the activity noted that the location where it will be held is home to some beautiful moth species, and the participants will learn how to catch, identify, and then release them. They will discover what makes them different to their cousins the butterflies, and they will also find out how they can be attracted, so that they will be easier to observe.
