A Fayetteville program that encourages older adults to get growing is on the agenda for the community, starting next month.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden will be running an instalment of its “Grow Easy: Lifelong Gardening” series starting in March, and it is intended to help those who take part hit the ground running when it comes to home horticulture. There will be one class each month, all of which will have a different area of focus.
The classes will be held on Tuesday mornings, and they will cover topics ranging from seed saving to pruning, planting, harvesting, landscape design, and soil amendments, and the goal is to encourage local seniors to keep active while they enjoy being out in the fresh air. The organizers say the skills taught can be used throughout a person’s life, and they may even be shared with the next generation.
Gardening is a hobby enjoyed by many people, and workshops give them an opportunity to learn some new techniques. Handouts and other materials for these sessions may be ordered from a company that offers brochure printing services, Letterheads, and other Print services.
