What's Happening in Fayetteville, NC…

Fayetteville function to teach fundamentals of fishing

A Fayetteville activity that will pay tribute to some local heroes and their families will be on offer this November, and while it is free to participate, anyone who is interested will need to sign up ahead of the event.

The John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center will be welcoming both active duty and former military medical personnel, along with their families, for the annual Heroes Homecoming fishing day. In an event listing it was explained that as the community is home to a large military base that sees the deployment and return of thousands of troops, it has a strong connection to the military.

The workshop, which is suited to kids aged seven and up, will intrude an assortment of skills that can be useful when fishing. Spin casting, bait collection, catch and release methods, and how to currently handle a fish are just some of the topics on the agenda, and everyone will get some hands-on experience. It will run for three hours, and the pond will be stocked so that the participants have a chance to land a big one.

Some refer to military families as being “the strength behind the uniform,” and including them in events like this thanks them for all they do. Promotional products to distribute during the function may be ordered from local companies providing printing services.

This opportunity to discover the fun of fishing will be offered on November 13. Everyone who signs up is asked to be at 7489 Raeford Road by no later than 9:00 am.
