Fayetteville fishers who consider crappies to be one of their top catches may find an upcoming workshop helpful when it comes to landing their next big one.
The NCWRC Fishing Education Team has a schedule of classes and other activities planned for the year, and one that will share secrets of crappie fishing will wrap up its February agenda. Its listing pointed out that this species continues to be a popular “pan fish” in many areas, and the techniques shared can be used when fishing from the lake shore, riverside, or casting from a boat.
The function will introduce several topics, and it is for those age 12 and up. It will explore everything from bait and line selection to how the fish move throughout the season. Everyone will learn how to craft their own crappie jigs, and fly fishing will be included as well. The John E. Pechmann Fishing Education Center will be the location for the evening.
Those who enjoy a pastime may be eager to learn even more, and an in-person workshop provides a chance for them to do so. Handouts for a learning session can be prepared by area Stationery printers.
