Fayetteville fishers offered spots in friendly competition
Fishing is an activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family, and a Fayetteville activity will feature the popular pastime.
Hope Mills has scheduled its first annual Fishing Derby, and the registration fee to drop a line and join the fun is $25. It will be held at Fort Mills Lake, and a boat permit is not needed for this rain-or-shine activity.
The derby will welcome anglers with all levels of experience, and those who add their name to the list before next Sunday, May 18 will receive a T-shirt. The organizers stress that it will be a friendly competition, and prizes will be presented to the top three catches made by adult anglers, and also to the top three children. Additional prizes may be added to the list as its date approaches. The charity of choice for the day is Artist Village.
Many community events include a sponsorship program so that the local business community can get involved. One way for them to do so is by donating corporate gifts in kind prepared by a print professional.
The first annual Hope Mills Fishing Derby will take to the lake at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 7. Anyone who would like to sign up can find out more through its web listing or by calling (910) 308-1808.
