Fayetteville festival to celebrate going vegan

A festival that has been organized for Fayetteville will provide living proof that switching to a meat- and dairy-free diet need not be a chore.

Prima Elements and the Green Roots Society have partnered to host this year’s Vegan Festival, and it will be all about making healthy and compassionate lifestyle choices. Plant-based living will be emphasized, and entry is free.

A full schedule of speakers, presentations, workshops and other activities has been created for the festival, and there will also be displays of arts and crafts. Many vendors will be on site, and food will be available for purchase. The whole community is welcome to learn about simple changes they can make to live a healthier lifestyle, and all ages can participate.

While entry to the event is free, the organizers noted they greatly appreciate donations from the public. Anyone who contributes $20 or more will receive a T-shirt with a custom graphic design and also a Peace Bag filled with vendor coupons and samples. It was noted that at least a tenth of the proceeds are donated to US rescue groups and animal shelters to help them care for their charges.

The second annual Vegan Fest will be hitting Fayetteville on May 25. It will be on offer at 124 Anderson Street.
