City council chambers to get new logo

The Fayetteville City Hall will have a new logo next month.

The old logo, which is often consider the city seal, has hung in the chambers of City Council for over 20 years. It has an image of the Market House, which is an iconic, two-story building in town, the words ‘Cambellton Cross Cvreek’, and some flowers along the bottom.

The City Council reached a compromise in April, to use the former seal of the city with a different depiction of the Market House for stamping contracts and other official documents, and another seal with a different Logo Design for city government promotional and marketing purposes.

The new logo will include the words ‘North Carolina’, over which will be the words ‘City of Fayetteville’ with an exaggerated tail of the letter Y. There will be no drawings or other images or dates on the logo.

The logo will be manufactured and installed in the chamber of the City Council by All Signs & Graphics. Cost for the new logo, including installation, will be $6,978. The plan is that it be ready in time for the next meeting of the Council on August 8.

According to project manager at All Signs, Larry Fatone, aluminum and gold-brushed will make up the logo so as to match the trim in council chamber.
