Unique art show to come to Cary
“Fabulous Fakes” is a new exhibit that will be opening at the Cary Arts Center on Dry Avenue in downtown Cary later this month.
Hosted by the Fine Arts League of Cary, the exhibit will showcase unique versions of well-known masterpieces created by artists in the Triangle area. On display will be a variety of styles from abstract to realistic, and impressionist to whimsical. Exhibits such as this one are often advertised with posters that are displayed throughout the community. Organizers of such exhibits often look to local print shops to help with poster printing.
The show will be judged with prizes for the artists. The first-place winner will be awarded $100, second place will be awarded $75, and third place will be awarded $50. There will be five honorable mentions awarded $25 each. The winner of the popular vote based on selections made by visitors to the exhibit will be awarded $75.
The hours for the exhibit will be Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.
The exhibit runs from Wednesday, September 28 through Sunday, November 26. An opportunity to meet the artists will be on Friday, September 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and a reception and awards presentation will be on Friday, October 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
