While Munich, Germany celebrated its Oktoberfest’s 205th anniversary, the Triangle held its second annual celebration of the area’s German heritage here in Cary last Saturday and Sunday.
The first Triangle Oktoberfest was held last year at MacGregor Village. A member of one of the Rotary Clubs that hosted the event described that inaugural event as “pretty impromptu”. The year, the celebration was held at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Carefully yet enthusiastically planned, it was put together by the Cary MacGregor Rotary Club and the Apex Sunrise Rotary Club.
Promotion for this type of festival takes many Forms; a banner printing service is often employed to promote the event in the weeks prior to its taking place, but year-round promotion is also possible with the use of custom Drinkware carrying a Logo Design unique to the festival.
In many respects, this year’s Triangle Oktoberfest mirrored the one in Munich with up-tempo German music, a nail hammering contest, and a stein hoist. Instead of horse races, however, more than 100 spectators were on hand to watch dachshunds race. Naturally, there was lots of beer; at the Cary Oktoberfest there was not only authentic German beer ,but locally brewed craft varieties as well.
Proceeds from the Triangle Oktoberfest are earmarked to benefit Alzheimer’s North Carolina, as well as some other local charities. Get a Free Quote for Logo Design Get a Free Quote for Drinkware Get a Free Quote for Forms
