Tech company to bring more than 100 jobs to Cary
Align Technology has chosen Cary as the first location for its East Coast operation; a move that will result in an investment of $4m and create in excess of 100 jobs.
The company, which makes Invisalign braces in addition to products and services used in 3D digital scanning by orthodontic and restorative dentistry, held a celebration to mark its opening on September 17. Align Technology is located at 2121 RDU Center Drive.
Although stationery printers will be listing a Morrisville mailing address on the company’s materials, Cary can claim bragging rights for this latest addition to the area’s business community, since the facility is within the town limits.
Although the new facility is up and running with some newly hired employees, there are still many positions that remain to be filled, most of which are in research and development for primarily software product development.
Align Technology’s decision to come here was not by happy happenstance, nor were state incentives used to entice Align here. Wake County Economic Development, working with state economic development agencies and the Cary Chamber of Commerce, were in discussion with Align for months before the company decided to make Cary its inaugural East Coast location.
The U.S. headquarters for Align is in San Jose, California, and its global operations are headquartered in Amsterdam.
