Rezoning approval makes way for new Cary hotel
A 2.6-acre site at Crossroads Boulevard in Cary has been purchased by a hotel development and management company for the purpose of constructing a new six-story hotel in 2016.
The new accommodation, for which a rezoning and site plan request was approved on December 10 by the Cary Town Council, is to be built by the Parks Hospitality Group. The 108-room hotel at 555 Crossroads Boulevard is located between the Legacy Crossroads apartment complex and Capital Mazda of Cary.
This will be the seventh hotel property owned by Parks Hospitality in North Carolina. Although personalized stationery, as well as a variety of brochures, will play an important role in the new hostelry’s future, the need for them will not be immediate as the hotel is not projected to open until the summer of 2017.
Locally Parks Hospitality owns the Doubletree by Hilton Raleigh-Cary and the Hilton Garden Inn Raleigh-Cary, and its new establishment will be known as Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh/Cary I-40.
The Hilton’s Homewood Suites is the company’s extended-stay, all-suite brand, of which there are already four in the Triangle and 375 throughout North America. Each room features separate sleeping and living areas, as well as a kitchen containing a full-sized refrigerator. This will be the Crossroads’ second hospitality project planned for 2016.
