Popular burger eatery to come to Cary

It was recently announced that Shake Sack, a popular restaurant for burgers and French fries, will be coming to Cary.

Waverly Place will be the location for the new restaurant and will be the first such Shake Shack in the Triangle area. It is expected that it will open this fall. Those in Cary who wanted to try out a burger from Shake Shack previously had to travel to Charlotte to get one.

Shake Shack serves not just its crinkle-cut fries and an assortment of burgers, but also three types of hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and frozen custard for dessert. Beverages include fresh-brewed iced tea and lemonade made by Shake Shack, beer and wine, and a variety of sodas. Its frozen concrete will be made by partnering with local food sources.

The restaurant in Cary will have an outdoor patio. It is looking to hire close to 80 part-time and full-time employees, many of whom may need to turn to business card printing to help promote themselves and the restaurant.

Shake Shack began in 2001 as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the first art installation of the Madison Square Park Conservancy. Three years later, a more permanent kiosk opened in the park, and from this, the restaurant grew to what it is known today.
