New craft beer and record store to come to Cary
Hunky Dory, a craft beer bar and store for vinyl records, is planning to open in Cary in the near future.
The store will span 800 square feet and will be in a shopping development that is also home to Taipei 101 and Di Fara Pizza Tavern. It will keep rotating its selection of craft beers on tap and will sell both used and new vinyl records.
Such new stores may want to promote their openings with many kinds of promotional products to be distributed to new customers.
Owner Michael Bell said this will be the third location of the store. In addition to this new location on East Chatham Street, Hunky Dory has stores in the Seaboard Station district in Raliegh and on Ninth Street in Durham. Bell loves to hunt for rare records and is a former journalist. The location in Durham was opened in 2010, and the one in Raleigh followed in 2020.
The launch of this store comes on the heels of the opening of the Downtown Cary Park, a project that cost $68m and covers seven acres near South Academy Street and Kildaire Farm Road. The park is being launched with a new social district in Cary, enabling those who are 21 years of age and older to purchase and carry marked, open containers of wine and beer during the hours between 11:00 am and 11:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
