What's Happening in Cary, NC…

June to see fun with Fido

The Dog Days of June will be held at Fred G Bond Metro Park in Cary, with several activities planned for the Saturday event.

Vendors will be on hand to enlighten attendees on all the latest in pet products, and a charitable raffle will also be held. Organizers ask that all dogs are kept on a leash.

Dogs and their owners can browse the booths and then, if they feel up to the challenge, take part in a Canine Frisbee Disc Competition. Registration for the competition is at 9:30 am and the Skyhoundz Dog Disc Competition starts at 10:00 am. Entrants will be judged on distance and accuracy. The competition is free and open to all breeds.

After the competition, canines and humans can check out the rabies vaccination and microchip clinic open from 9:00 am until noon. Cats are welcome at the clinic as well. The cost for a rabies vaccination is $5 and microchipping is $10 per animal.

Attendees can take home a clean dog by taking advantage of the dog wash being held by the Cary Teen Council. Costs per dog are $5, $7, and $10 depending on the dog's weight.

Aside from offering fun, this event promises to be informative as well. Various groups working, perhaps with the help of brochure printing services, will provide pet owners with oodles of helpful information at the June 7 event.
