Construction on a new Wegman’s in Cary on Davis Drive at Airport Boulevard is continuing as scheduled. This is the second Wegman’s grocery store in the state, the first having opened in September 2019 in Raleigh to a record-breaking opening day crowd.
The store will be 103,000 square feet in size and will be part of the Twin Lakes Center. Its featured food options will include fresh produce and seafood, a sushi bar, and a Restaurant foods section.
It is expected that that there will be 300 part-time positions to be filled in the store. These positions will include keeping the shelves stocked with fresh products, Packaging products, taking orders, and helping customers to find needed items. The store will employ a total of 450 people, some of whom may require business card printing services.
Wegman’s is planning to open additional stores in the state in the Spring 2021 in Chapel Hill, Holly Springs, and Wake Forest, and a second store in Cary. The chain also plans to open a store at Tysons Corner, Virginia and in Harrison, New York in the fall. Grocery stores have experienced increased demand in the past few months, as demonstrated by the opening of new locations of Aldi and Lidl in the area in April.
A spokesperson for the store said the opening date is planned for Sunday 2nd August, with doors opening at 7:00 a.m.Get a Free Quote for Packaging
