Cary to host springtime herb festival

Herbfest will be returning to Cary next month at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, which is a Cary Historic Landmark.

Such events often take advantage of poster printing to promote themselves throughout a community.

This event is a favorite of the community where attendees will be able to tour the Anne B. Kratzer Educational Garden, get an inside look at the historic Page smokehouse from the 1850s, and learn how to start their own herb garden. Attendees will also be able to learn about the Pollinator Garden, which features wild plants and is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat.

There will also be booths of vendors selling a wide range of items related to gardens, including lotions and soaps, home care products, crafts, garden products, and edible treats. There will be perennials, native plants, herbs, and vegetables from plant vendors. There will also be informational booths and demonstrations that will offer the chance to learn more about healing with herbs, gardening, cooking with herbs, crafts, and other interesting topics.

Other activities at Herbfest will include a food truck, a special activity for kids, and a bake sale fundraiser for the Young Friends offering tasty treats throughout the event. In the afternoon there will be the well-known butterfly release.

Herbfest will take place from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 4.
