A new Mexican restaurant will be coming to Cary.
Katsuji Tanabe, a Top Chef alumnus, and LM Restaurants, will be partnering to open A’Verde Cocina and Tequila Bar. The eatery will be on Walnut Street in Cary. Banner printing can often be found at such sites to promote the opening of new establishments.
Tanabe said that the restaurant will not be a traditional Mexican restaurant as it will offer Mexican food in an approachable fashion using a more comfortable yet upscale approach. He added that he wants people coming to the restaurant to enjoy the culture, and a good steak or some fresh fish with some Mexican influence, but without the heaviness that is typical of Mexican food.
A’Verde Cocina and Tequila Bar is being designed by fellow restaurateur, Giorgios Bakatsias. Bakatsias said that the space is large enough to enjoy many kinds of experiences. He added that the space will celebrate the rich Mexican culture with earthly and organic elements paying tribute to the natural ingredients that will be used.
Tanabe is currently the Culinary Innovator for LM Restaurants and works to simplify dishes and revamp Menus. Amber Moshakos, president of LM Restaurants, said that Tanabe brings culinary excitement to the team and works with chefs to bring the best dishes possible for customers.
The restaurant is expected to open this summer.
