Chef Lon Bounsanga of Bida Manda and Brewery Bhavana is planning to open a Laotian restaurant next to a park in downtown Cary.
The restaurant is to be called SAAP, which means “delicious” in Laotian, and will be on the first floor of the luxury apartment building, The Walker. It will span 2,600 square feet and serve fresh Laotian food for which Bounsanga is known. The menu will enable guests to share and sample as many dishes as they want. There will also be a bar that will offer beer, wine, and hand-crafted cocktails and mocktails that will pair well with the Laotian food.
In a couple of months, Bounsanga plans to leave his current places of employment so he can focus on his new restaurant. He said that Laotian food – which has its influences in the cuisines of China, Thailand, Vietnam, and India – is an ideal restaurant for a varied and diverse community like Cary. Such planned establishments can work with local printing services to create Flyers and other materials to promote distinct food throughout the community.
Bounsanga will be partnering with Bill Zahn and Walker Walnut Hospitality, both of which are investors. Zahn is a major developer in downtown Cary and is the lead developer of The Walker. The restaurant is scheduled to open sometime this fall.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
