Cary says hello to new thrift store
The Thrift 2 Gift shop in Cary is now open for business.
The thrift store, spanning 20,000 square feet, is employing new social distancing and other safety measure throughout the store to ensure the health and wellbeing of its customers. It is located next to WakeMed Cary soccer park.
George King, the founder of the store, said that people in need were asking for products for children and babies, clothes, bicycles, and other items, including board games and other types of games that are essential to their lives. He said that his store also offers housewares and kitchenware, electronics, books, and sporting goods, among many other essential items. The store is permitted to open at the moment, and the hours are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
The sale of these items enables Thrift 2 Gift, a non-profit organization, to provide funding to other nonprofit organizations.
Residents looking for quality items at affordable prices can be made aware of such opening through flyer printing.
Thrift 2 Gift is also accepting donations of items from the community. Items can be dropped off safely behind its building at the loading dock. Large items, such as furniture, can be picked up at individual homes within a 15-mile radius of the store. A receipt for donations is provided and all donations are tax deductible.
