Families in the Cary area are getting excited for the 2017 Children’s Day Festival.
Sponsored by the American Turkish Association of NC and the Sister Cities of Cary, the all-day event features music, food, and dancing.
Flyers bill the fest as a celebration of the next generation as well as the colorful tapestry of culture in the Cary area. As such, a broad array of groups will be performing including the Motley Tones, a pirate-themed children’s band, the Bollywood-styled Indigo Dance Academy, the Ruby Slippers Chinese Dance Club, and the local Academy of Irish Dance. At one point, children will learn a line dance and be able to sing along with the music.
In addition to the music and dancing, a lot of entertainment is available to families. A craft make and take table will be set up with a variety of different crafts. Children will be able to get a balloon animal or have their faces painted. Food trucks will also be on site offering a variety of cuisines, and the festival will have an international dessert table.
The Children’s Day Festival will be held on April 22 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Sertoma Amphitheatre, located a Fred G. Bond Metro Park at 801 High House Rd. Admission is free, and more info is available on the website.
