Missoula Aging Services will hold an educational event at the Garden City Harvest Community Barn in February that teaches attendees about Medicare.
The In-Person New to Medicare Workshop is an informative presentation where people can get a thorough introduction to Medicare. Seniors who attend the seminar will learn about Medicare’s important enrollment dates, late enrollment penalties, and how to choose the right plan for their needs. The program will also teach attendees about state and county-specific Medicare options. Guests will receive take-home publications and can talk on the phone with a Medicare specialist. Organizations in charge of similar workshops may give promotional Pens to guests so they can take notes.
Missoula Aging Services is a State Health Insurance Assistance Program that works to help seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and health. The organization also offers several other services for elderly individuals, such as memory care support services, transportation assistance, and in-home support services. Lisa Sheppard is the organization’s chief executive officer. The group holds many classes on topics like memory loss and diabetes prevention.
The Medicare presentation will be on Wednesday, February 7 from noon to 1:30pm. Those interested in the workshop can pay $20 per ticket. People can also pay $35 for a bundle of two tickets.
